Midwest Express Corporation and Greg Orscheln Transportation have joined with Scout Logistics to expand its ability to provide supply chain services that augment its existing truckload and intermodal capabilities.
“Our Customers seek higher levels of visibility and connectivity in their supply chains” said Greg Orscheln, Chief Executive Officer. “Both our truckload carrier and our logistics operations will benefit greatly in that Scout brings both technology and the know-how to effectively implement broad-based solutions.”
Scout was formed in June 2006 as a non-asset third party logistics provider by Jeff Johnson and Ted Glickley. The company designs and operates supply chain solutions for its customers that emphasize collaboration among the partners in logistics processes to optimize overall performance.
“Even as we developed our non-asset business offering, we sought and were prepared to develop a carrier” stated Jeff Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer of the new company. “As we met with Greg, it was evident that both organizations would benefit greatly from working together. Given our long association with Midwest Express, it was a natural fit.”
Ted Glickley, CFO of Scout Distribution Systems, has for over 15 years provided financial and tax consulting services as both an employee and contractor for Midwest Express.
“The timing could not be better for putting these two organizations together. From the immediate benefits of the Scout team on both asset and non-asset development to the long-term internal and external improvements from system and process implementation, we don’t see a limit on what we can accomplish together.“
