Kansas City, MO – March 1, 2008
On March 1, Midwest Express launched its internet visibility capabilities, enabling customers to track their shipments, from load tendering to shipment delivery.
Ted Glickley, COO and CFO of Midwest Express, said, “The opportunity to provide our Customers with real-time visibility is just the tip of the iceberg. Data capture of the parts and pieces of large logistics events allows us to put the whole picture together for our Customers. Whether they seek deep integration of their systems with ours or they prefer us to manage the whole process, we are now prepared to step up.”
Midwest Express launched this capacity following conversion to a new transportation management system in November. The new system features data imaging and bar coding capabilities that enable full integration of its back-end accounting and finance functions to the operations.
Along with improved Customer Services, Midwest Express seeks to enhance its Driver Services by providing on-line driver settlement reporting. Drivers or their spouses can now log in to a secure environment to view and print their settlement history. Cheri Carlson, who leads the Midwest Express Driver Services team, said, “Our drivers can track their progress online and the records are maintained for their research at any time of day. It makes it so easy for them.”
“The open environment is critical to our success, both internally and externally,” said Jeff Johnson, CMO. “Customers and associates alike will benefit from the real-time information this system provides.”
